Download mac driver samsung se-506
The link provided is to Seagate and they don't have software for the SE portable bluray player. Do you have a real Samsung site as I have finally decided to connect this optical drive to my laptop and all the old TSSTodd. I would like to know this as well, my burner worked just fine with an OUTDATED windows vista laptop but then I bought a windows 10 laptop and all of a suddenly my burner isnt fully compatible anymore.
This is absurd, why hasnt there any updates? Windows 10 has been around for how long now? I also brought a Samsung portable blu ray writer, as the salesman said it will work in window It seems that the player is not compatible to Windows 10 at all.
Where can I get a driver for Windows 10 and if needed a firmware update? Many thanks, Alex. All forum topics Previous Topic Next Topic. AntS Moderator. Hi all. Apologies for the lack of update.
Just to let you know we are still looking into this. KizginMusteri Apprentice. This is not acceptable I have been in contact with the Samsung Blu-ray writer support, who sent me a split USB power cable to try. Both I and my son who has the same writer and problem tried it and it makes no difference. This does not seem to be a power issue. I reported this back to support who have now informed me that they have no other solution - no firmware or driver upgrade.
It would seem we all now have a writer that will not work with Windows 10 and neither Samsung or Microsoft or their affiliates are going to do anything about it. Moderators, please take note of this wholly unacceptable situation. I agree with you that it's unacceptable. Thanks for getting back to us mikep6dd - and saddened to hear of your experience. I'll chase up with our Head Office to see what we're able to advise here.
Please update this thread ASAP with the support required for this device under this operating system. This drive was sold to me on May through Amazon the year Windows 10 was released, it should have had supported drivers.
I cannot find these drivers on Samsung's website. I'm so desperate that I'm going to try the 1. I'll provide an update once I've been able to test. No, they are both pin mini B male connectors. I don't think they will fit your device.
The cable I ordered today arrived and is incompatible because the SE uses a five-pin connector. I've searched more on Amazon and have not yet, sadly, found any USB cables with 5-pin mini B connectors. The sticking point seems to be the USB 3. There's even an historical record on Amazan of a type-A plug to type b 5-pin mini adaptor , which if was still available, could be connected together Heath-Robinson style, but again, not available. It's not like such cables don't exist or haven't existed here's one.
But there's no immediately obvious way to order no price displayed and ordering a single cable all the way from the US to the UK is likely to be somewhat cost inhibitive. Of course, perhaps Samsung would be able to source sufficient quantities at a reasonable cost to help get all of these currently useless devices working again - once it has been proven conclusively that it would resolve the issue, of course.
How about it, Samsung? The split cable might work if you have low-powered USB ports, but that is not the Windows 10 issue. This may or may not work for you, and involves a registry change, so attempt at your own risk! If it works, great!
